Local 1973 welcomes fully written articles, op-eds, essays, and pitches from the 4Cs membership and our readers.

We are interested in writing that has a strong point of view and that gives our readers recommendations for new policies, pedagogies, strategies, actions, or ways of thinking about issues that confront higher education. We welcome pieces from all perspectives—faculty, staff, and students. We are looking for writing that challenges current thinking and seeks to better our communities. We also like first-hand narratives that explore, through the author’s experience, an issue or aspect of higher education in ways that would appeal to a wide range of readers.

Send all writing and queries to local1973editors@gmail.com.

“Community Profiles” allow us a chance to share ourselves with our community. Please find the Google form to fill out here, if you haven’t already.

“Ask the 4Cs” provides our readers access to the invaluable resource of our membership. Whether you’re concerned about contract negotiations, union work, and benefits, your community at large, or any issue that you can’t find an answer to or think that our readers would like an answer to—please reach out to us at local1973editors@gmail.com.
